“Awesome Innkeepers”
Randy and Lety are awesome innkeepers. We went to Highlands for a long weekend and were delighed to spend the weekend in a beautiful king room with gas fireplace, rainhead showers and a bed that had the same mattress that is used by the Ritz Carlton Hotels. The gourmet breakfast prepared by Lety was savored at the community table while enjoying the wonderful company of couples from Cornelia,Easley and Decatur. On top of all this was a beautiful two inches of snowfall. We will definitely return soon to spend another weekend with Randy and Lety.

“A Great Place to Stay!!!”
Reviewed January 12, 2013 We had a WONDERFUL experience at the Chandler Inn! The rooms were clean, attractively decorated, and had cozy furniture. The remote-controlled gas logs fireplaces were warm and inviting. Nice soft beds. It was all very "homey". Breakfast was the best! In addition to the typical cereals, coffee, and juice, there were homemade souffles and casseroles. Yum! The hosts were friendly and chatty. We look forward to our next trip to stay at The Chandler Inn. The Sprungers, from Alabama.

“treated like family”
Reviewed November 22, 2012 My wife and I stayed for a weekend and was treated like family. Letty is very warm and welcoming. She also makes a very good breakfast. The Inn was very clean. You need to know, however, its decor is dated. If you are seeking luxury, this is not the place. If you are seeking clean, friendly surroundings you will be very pleased. The Inn is located 1/2 mild from Main St. There are sidewalks and it is a very pleasant walk.

“Our honeymoon was made perfect!!”
This was overall, the most comforting, safest, and coziest stays at any place in America!!! The best breakfast, the most comfortable beds, and the owners are the kind of people you could just sit and talk to for hours!!! We have stayed at many, many places and none like this, you feel as if you are in another world, Mayberry like, back 20 years or so, but with all the up to date fine accommodations, Mayberry with flat screens and gas fire places!! For our honeymoon we wanted the perfect stay, and Randy said he had it, boy was he right!!! In one word, I would say "AMAZING"!!!

We have stayed here numerous times through the years and will always stay here when we return.. Dont miss the great breakfast provided every morning! The Inn owners, Randy and Letti, are very friendly and helpful and a pleasure to be around....And for a nightcap and a great sandwich at great prices, dont miss the "Ugly Dog Pub" just downtown. It's a great little pub!

Reviewed September 9, 2012We just spent this past weekend at the Chandler Inn in Highlands, NC. We've been visiting Highlands for over 30 years; but this was our first stay at the Chandler Inn. You can spend a lot (a LOT) more money for accommodations in Highlands; but if you are like us (out early for hiking, exploring, shopping, etc.), why would you? Letty was a super hostess, and had breakfast with us each morning (she baked the blueberry casserole and egg casserole fresh for us, and they were delicious). The room was very nice and super clean, and so quiet at night. Again, if you are just dead set on spending 5-times more for a room at the Old Edwards; so be it. But we took the savings and had great dinners at Lakeside and Wild Thyme, and had plenty left over for the wine and gas!!! Thanks Letty....We hope to return this winter.

We enjoyed chatting over breakfast each morning with the inn keeper, Letty, who offered us suggestions of what the town had to offer: nearby waterfalls (beautiful), shopping in town (fun), and dinning (very good). Randy suggested we go to the auction in town at Scudder's, we enjoyed it lots! The room we stayed in was the deluxe king (#108). We enjoyed the small living room and kitchen area, along with the comfortable king bed andnice bathroom with dressing area. The fire place was a nice nightly enjoyment for us. Very "cozy" experience for us on our First Wedding Anniversary and definitely set the bar high for many to follow. Each room hasprivateentrance, ours had a porch swing that was a sweet delight!
Room Tip: The inn keeper was very helpful to us when we chos a room.
Reviewed September 1, 2012My wife and I spent our 48th Wedding Anniversary at The Chandler Inn. Randy and Letty, Inn owners, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the occasion memorable. It rained a lot while we were there but that was not a problem. We enjoyed swinging on the porch and listening to the rain on the metal roof. It also gave us time to spend time inside with a good book with the fireplace going. The breakfasts were really special and the owners joined to discuss our plans for the day and offered helpful suggestions about activities in Highland. Overall a great experience. We are already making plans to return next year for our 49th.
Room Tip: We stayed in Room 108and it was just right for us.
Reviewed August 28, 2012The Inn was a very wonderful experience. The room was clean and private. We enjoyed using one of the swings in the internal courtyard. Located close to town, we left the car at the inn and walked to dinner, shipping, etc. But a significant part of the experience was Letty, one of the owners. She is a wonderful person, and took every opportunity to chat with us and make us feel at home. She cooks a fantastic breakfast each morning, and we enjoyed meeting and talking with the other guests. The Powers have been running this facility for 26 years, and have certainly found the right formula.

Reviewed August 1, 2012This little B&B Inn offers the privacy of individual rooms and the friendliness of a shared breakfast area. This was not our first trip there and the rooms have always been neat, clean and charming. The eating area for breakfast is delightful, especially since the morning air in Highlands is usually crisp and much cooler than the lower elevations from nearby towns. The inn's proximity to the main street of the town allows you to walk to shopping, restaurants, etc., yet it is not in the hustle and bustle of the main traffic of the town.
If you want a great getaway, go to Highlands. If you want to stay in a quiet, quaint inn while you are there, stay at the Chandler.

Chandler Inn - Perfect Getaway”
June 19, 2012NEWThe Chandler Inn is our favorite mountain getaway spot in Highlands NC. Close enough to shopping, hiking, botanical gardens and fine dining to walk all. The Inn blends with the natural setting of the surounding area. Quite and private. We have been going to the Chandler Inn for the past eight years or so - have stayed in several of the different rooms and have enjoyed them all - we have our favorites but have not stayed in them all. The staff and owners are great people and the breakfast is well worth setting an alarm clock for - evenif you tend to be a late sleeper.

A wonderful overnight stay and a shower I didn't want to leave!
Reviewed May 22, 2012NEWThis was my first visit to Highlands, and I would love to have had more days to visit, hike, and end the evening in my room at The Chandler Inn. We were greeted by the innkeeper who showed us two different rooms we could choose from for our overnight stay. The rooms were quaint and homey, and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower the next day made me want to linger, as it was a "rain" type shower head, with lots of great water pressure. The shower was tiled and looked new. The next morning, the innkeepers had a delicious homemade breakfast and sat with us to chat and get aquainted. We will definitely be visiting Highlands and The Chandler Inn again soon!

An Unexpected stay at The Chandler.
Reviewed April 6, 2012We were greeted warmly by the innkeeper. We had a delightful conversation about society and politics then went straight to our king suite. It was equipped nicely with a large flat screen television, a fire place (gas logs), a mini fridge, and updated bathroom. The shower head was high enough for a tall person and had exceptional water flow.
The family style breakfast was the high point of the stay. Guests sit around the table and share their travel stories from all over the country and are served casseroles that fill the stomach and warm the soul.
We paid in cash and got everything including tax for less than $85.

Chandler's Charm
October 16, 2011NEWEnjoying the experience is what I look for in our yearly Fall Foliage Tour. Steve and I have just spent two nights at the charming North Carolina Bed & Breakfast, this was our fifth visit there. We enjoy relaxation, uncomplicated experiences, & great locations. The Chandler Inn is located within walking distance of Highland's shopping and art district. The Inn itself has it's unique decor and every room is different, clean and comfortable, some have a swing on the porch or rockers, most have iron or a brass bed. All have good showers and televisions. The delight is always Letty's breakfast, baked french toast & egg souffl.

Weekend in the Mountains
Reviewed September 25, 2011We just arrived home after a great weekend in the North Carolina Mountains. On Saturday we spent the afternoon in beautiful Highlands North Carolina. On Saturday night we stayed at the Chandler Inn, a B&B style hotel in Highlands NC. The hotel room was spacious with a kink size bed, Couch, refrigerator, fireplace and modern bathroom. The sheets on the bed were of a high thread count which was very nice and comfortable. We also had a nice hanging swing right outside our door on the porch. Breakfast which is included was amazing with fresh fruit, an egg souffl, and a blueberry bread pudding which was to die for. The best part of the Inn was the couple who runs the property. They were lovely and truly enjoyed what they were doing. I highly recommend this Inn to anyone.

We were excited to see some black bears in the back yard occationally. Chandler Inn is rustic, country and so peaceful and quiet. We will diffinently go back. It has to be the best place to stay in Highlands. The weather was perfect, no heat, just cool and breezy. All the rooms have private entrance. Our room was on the back of the Inn and had a very long porce. We were able to pull our vehicle almost up the door. You won't regret it if you stay here. I want the same room when we go back. Great place to stay in Highlands
Reviewed July 21, 2011
We just had a wonderful 2 nights at the Chandler Inn in Highlands, NC. The room was more than adequate and comfy, with lots of fluffy pillows and comforters. Wish it had been cold enough to use the fire place. Breakfast was great, service excellent. Would definitely stay here again. There are many pricey B&B's in Highlands, but you don't need to pay a lot for a great room. The only complaint (which is very minor) is that the bathroom doesn't have a lot of room for toiletries, etc. However, the shower was nice and clean and roomy.

Highlands NC can be an expensive area for travelers, but we stopped at the Chandler Inn, because it looked so quaint and comfortable; a real mountain setting. What a surprise when we discovered that it was also incredibly reasonable for a comfortable room that included a delicious hot breakfast. The owners are delightful. Call ahead if you have a pet to find out if their "pet room" is available. The Inn is close to the retail district of Highlands, but not within walking distance. We cannot wait to return; wouldn't stay anywhere else in Highlands.

Chandler Inn is very nice. Beds and linens very comfortable. Gas fireplace in room very nice. Grounds were full of flowers and they are right! Best Breakfast in the Mountains. Conversation at breakfast is fun. Within walking distance to town. Walk across highway and use 41/2 Street for less traffic. I would recommend booking one of the quite rooms in the back, second floor. Weather was perfect, Inn was very comfortable hope to return soon.

We have stayed at The Chandler Inn a few times before and we find ourselves gravitating back there any time we are in the area. This trip was only for over night but it just as enjoyable as staying for days. We enjoy talking with the owners and the accomedations could not be better. Rooms are beautiful and romantic. All very private and at the same time perfect for socializing. The breakfast is wonderful. Cooked on-site by one of the owners, cant find a better meal at a 5 star resturant. Walking distance from Downtown Highlands makes the perfect location for relaxing in the quiet or walking to all the site and features the beautiful city of Highlands has to offer. Shopping, auction, Fine dining, and antique shops are plentiful.
We love Highlands and The Chandler Inn is our pick for the best of the best. You wont feel more welcomed anywhere else. Its "a nice place for nice people to stay" and the nicest people run it!

Comments : We visit Highlands each October with two other couples from GA and SC. This year, for the first time, we all stayed at the Chandler Inn in downtown Highlands from 15 - 18 October 2009. We have stayed in many Bed and Breakfast Inns throughout the years but our new favorite, \"hands down,\" is the Chandler Inn. It's within walking distance to shopping, fine restaurants and scenic views. Best of all, the entire Powers family availed themselves to our every need. Mrs. Power is an excellent \"chef\" and ensured that each breakfast filled every tummy and satisfied every palate. Their family goal seems to be making each day better than the day before. In our case this proved to be true. We have stayed in the Old Edwards Inn, the Mitchell's Lodge, the Highlands Inn, etc. Our new favorite is this \"sleeper\" which far exceeded our every expectation. We will return here every October from now on and make the Chandler Inn our new Highlands home (for three days year at least.)

delicious breakfast there every morning.
